Upper Hutt priests share anniversary celebrations

St Joseph’s Parish Upper Hutt recently celebrated the anniversaries of four of its priests.

Frs Ron Bennett, Michael Sweere, Tikoua Kautu and Maleko Api-Tufuga celebrated their anniversaries on October 19.

They were Fr Michael Sweere (50 years), Fr Ron Bennett (42 years), Fr Maleko Api-Tufug (25 years) and Fr Tikoua Kautu (15 years).
“It was a very enjoyable afternoon,” Fr Bennett said.
Master of Ceremonies Fiona Rammell recalled what the world was like at the time of each priest’s ordination, compared with how things are now.
Each priest was given a chance to reply.
The celebration was attended by 120 parishioners at the Kaitoke Country Gardens Conference Centre on
October 19.
