Truck crash halts some NZ Catholic 519 South Is. deliveries

Drowned NZ Catholic papers

Some parishes in the South Island did not receive issue 519 of NZ Catholic dated July 16.

NZ Catholic has been informed that the truck delivering the packs of papers to the South Island was involved in an incident on July 11 wherein it flipped and a portion of its freight went down a river embankment and was damaged.

It is not known if the driver of the truck suffered any injuries.

Spare copies of the paper were couriered to some parishes, but our supply was quickly exhausted.

It was especially unfortunate that this edition should have been the one which was not delivered in some South Island parishes, as there was extensive coverage of the ordinations of three new priests at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral in Christchurch.

NZ Catholic apologises to people who normally buy the paper in the parishes affected. Most of the material in that edition are on our website, nzcatholic.org.nz
