Stuart Young, from Morrinsville, and Joseph George, from Fairfield in Hamilton, were ordained by Bishop Denis Browne, assisted by several other priests, including Bishop-Elect Stephen Lowe, in St Joseph’s Church, Morrinsville.
Deacon George later told NZ Catholic that he would probably be ordained a priest in about six months time.
Deacon Young said he expected to be ordained to the presbyterate before the end of the year.
