On December 13, in his home parish of St Patrick’s Church, Pukekohe, Philip Simon Bennenbroek
was ordained a priest of the Marist Order by Bishop Patrick Dunn in the presence of many priests, both diocesan and Marist.
Also present were a large number of family, friends and parishioners who took part in the Mass as choir, servers, readers and in the offertory.

About 60 people came from the Whangarei parish of St Francis Xavier, where Deacon Philip had
been for the previous year.
Various people in the congregation remarked about what a totally uplifting experience it had
been for the whole parish, much of which was due to the organising input of parish priest Fr
Ralph Barcelo, and the magnificent music efforts of the local choir.
