Pope’s Easter Mass

Triangle and Stratos Television are to help Catholics celebrate one of the most important events in their religious calendar by broadcasting the Easter Papal Mass and message from St Peter’s Square, Vatican City on both channels this Easter Monday (April 25) at 10:30am New Zealand time. Presided over by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, the Easter Mass represents the culmination of Holy Week and the Resurrection of Jesus. The Mass is attended by tens of thousands of pilgrims and watched by millions more on television.

Triangle and Stratos are able to broadcast the Mass through an agreement with the European Broadcast Union. The same agreement saw the channels screen The Eurovision Song Contest and the Pope’s Christmas Mass last year.

Triangle Auckland is on UHF Channels 41, 42 and 52 and in Christchurch via TelstraClear cable (Channel 50). Triangles sister channel, Stratos Television, broadcasts nationwide, free-to-air via Freeview (Channel 21), on Sky Digital (Channel 89) and TelstraClear cable.
