Praying for one’s children is a must, but it may be easier said than done. The Praying Parents Club was formed by Mel and Rita Nepomuceno to help and support parents in seeking God’s guidance on behalf of their children.
“We believe that praying for our children is something that every parent can and should be able to do. But we also know from experience that this is easier said than done,” said Mr Nepomuceno.
“That is why we have made it part of our mission in life, in our own simple way, to try and help other parents how
to get going and how to keep going. And so we are starting The Praying Parents Club,” he added.
The group had its inaugural meeting in Flat Bush, Auckland, on June 15.
Mr Nepomuceno said praying for their five children was a process that they developed over time.
“We have had to work through it until we finally understood what it really meant, especially when we started seeing our children’s lives with the benefit of hindsight,” he said.
Mr Nepomuceno said the group will be meeting every second Thursday of each month to “gather for about an hour or a bit more to pray, learn, share, and be with other praying parents”.
He also expressed willingness to help other communities set up their own Praying Parents Clubs.
