Sacred Heart College Pompallier Shield roll continues

Sacred Heart College’s winning team.

Sacred Heart College has won the Auckland diocese Pompallier Shield competition for the eighth time in ten years.

The competition, which included Scripture reading, drama and oratory categories was held this year at Marcellin College. In all, 15 colleges participated.

Finbar MacLeod of Sacred Heart College won the senior oratory section for the second year in a row. He spoke on the topic “Fit of Mission”.

Pompallier College from Whangarei finished second in the overall standings, and Baradene College from Auckland was third.

Marcellin College DRS Karen Rodrigues earned plaudits for her outstanding coordination of this annual inter-Catholic schools competition.

Next year’s competition will be hosted by Marist College in Mt Albert.
