For its first initiative the newly formed Warkworth-Puhoi Catholic Parish Social Justice Group will host a local area presentation of the Salvation Army’s report, A Mountain All Can Climb, originally released to New Zealand in February this year.
The report, which can be read and downloaded from the website: www.salvationarmy.org.nz/socialpolicy covers the areas of children’s wellbeing, crime and punishment, work and incomes, housing and social hazards, including alcohol, drugs, gambling and debt.
Interested members of the public and people from local welfare and caring organisations will be especially welcome.
Mr Johnson, a social policy analyst with a Catholic background, will orient his presentation towards Christian principles of social justice.
The organisers are looking forward to the evening as a wonderful opportunity for ecumenical interaction, says parish social justice group representative Judith Williams, email: email@example.com
