Baptism series to start in November

by NZ CATHOLIC staff
In the wake of the successful “Walk through the Mass” series, the Auckland diocesan team is preparing to launch a new and similar initiative around Baptism.
“Walk through the Mass” was an initiative for the Year of Faith and was repeated in several areas of Auckland and in Whangarei. The series of four evenings was a “beneath the surface” look at the Mass through a combination of song, liturgical action and addresses by a
variety of speakers.
This new initiative will be modelled on its predecessor but have quite a different name and explore how our call to mission stems from our Baptism.
“Baptism: Called, Gifted, Sent”, is offered to the people of Auckland diocese as part of the new pastoral plan, “Fit for Mission”. It is a one afternoon event beginning at 1pm
and concluding at 5.15pm with a light meal, followed by a Mass celebrated by Bishop Patrick Dunn at 6.30pm.
A team of four presenters is preparing for this journey through the sacrament of Baptism, a journey that will be launched at St Mark’s parish church, 334 Pakuranga Rd, Auckland, on Sunday afternoon November 9 at 1pm.
