Brazilian archbishop gave warning of excommunication before abortion on pre-teen girl

RECIFE, Brazil, (LifeSiteNews.com) Several officials of the Archdiocese of Recife, Brazil, have responded to statements made by a Vatican official attacking the conduct of Archbishop José Cardoso Sobrinho, who excommunicated the physicians and all others involved in a medically unnecessary abortion given to a nine-year-old girl in his diocese. The girl, whose name has not been revealed by the Brazilian media, was given the abortion in Recife after she was found to be pregnant with twins.
