15 entries in Christian Youth Film Festival

AUCKLAND — Fifteen films made by teams of young people have been entered in the second Christian Youth Film Festival.
Organiser Michael Hamilton told NZ Catholic that winners are chosen partly by public voting, and partly by selected judges.
Mr Hamilton said that the festival started last year.
There were two age groups for entries, he said: 13 to 17, and 18 to 25.
“The age limits relate to scriptwriting, camerawork, production and direction,” he said. There is no age limit for the actors who take part.
One of the entries this year, said Mr Hamilton, is from a Catholic Filipino group (The Barkada Productions). Their entry is titled The Calling, and this is the first time an entry has been received from a Catholic group, Mr Hamilton said.
The films can be viewed and are open for public voting until June 28 on the festival’s website (nzcyf.org.nz). At the final’s night, on June 29, prize-winning films will be announced and all of them screened.
The night will include worship, praise and a message will be given by Max Palmer, an experienced pastor from Christchurch, who speaks internationally. Four professional judges who have judged the films will be present.
