It was after hearing the story of a man, now resident in New Zealand who, while living in South Sudan, ate leaves to survive that caused Mike Baird to grieve. He knew Jesus would grieve. He discussed this matter with his Men-Alive team who had organised a Bishop’s BBQ breakfast for men two years ago. Hamilton clergy appointments

Hamilton Bishop Stephen Lowe announced the appointments of several priests in new roles.These appointments took effect in May. Fr Santey Kizhakkinedath, SDB, was made chaplain of Tyburn Monastery at Ngakuru, Rotorua. Fr Anselm Aherne, MHM, was appointed parish priest of Huntly and Ngaruawahia. Fr Alfonso Dujali, MSP, is now parish priest of Frankton and Raglan.
