Sorry, but this is very unconvincing.
To begin with it was his superior
who said that the Catholic Catechism
“Is not set in stone” and “one is allowed to
doubt what it says”. It was also moved
that certain sections of the catechism
could be changed. WHO is he trying
to kid? Pope Saint John Paul II and his
comment on p 6 ?
AND WHY?
The sections referred to concern
homosexuals.
WHY should this be changed?
WHY attempt to SELL an
idea which to many is clearly specious,
and moreover abhorrent in its impact.
The trendy moves to gain a “High moral
ground” is a tactic long known among
many intellectuals, and fancy words that
are part of the dialectic will cut no ice
with the educated, whose place on any
pyramidal church is one of integrity.
NO, he will NOT apologise.
NO, he will NOT comment on the intrusion
in to the Catholic catechism, nor will his
superior.
NO there is no real interest in keeping
the faith with those deeply disturbed
by the stance of the German clergy.
It is to distance himself AND the rest
of the German clergy from having to face
up to certain obvious facts.
IF there are ANY changes to the Catechism,
or ANY MORE OVERT REFERENCES to its
validity, it will be abundantly clear what
their real motives are.
This is one small group of Catholics who
think they can get away with it, and they
need to be told.
Once again, the raw facts German birthrate
is 1.6. THAT is what clergy should be expressing
their interest in.
Now that the spotlight is on the German clergy,
they will need to show support FOR the Catholic following
from the Catholics WHO DO SUPPORT IT.
AND WHO DON”T DOUBT ITS INTEGRITY, particularly,
WHEN THE SIGNATURE OF POPE SAINT JOHN PAUL II
IS IN THE FRONT OF THE BOOK.
….TWICE!!
Which everyone who read it knows, including those
70 members of the clergy who wrote a letter .
