John, it is inappropriate to blame the Second Vatican Council for any corruption in the Church. The deliberate misinterpretations of Vatican II is more the point.
The basic cause of the sort of corruption demonstrated here (the Church being promulgated as and used as a tool of far left-wing politics) is the negligent and, sometimes, mischievous exercise of their authority by the bishops.

It would seem that blasphemy against the Holy Trinity and abortion – the GRAVEST of sins – are a bit down his list ” these days? And as to his comment about “Faith-filled people” having rejected individual confession, I wonder if he cares to state why it is so? … and who’s at fault here? Might it have anything to do with Vatican II by chance? Ignorance is NOT bliss.

Your addendum, which reveals Consedine’s abuse of the Rite of Reconciliation, suggests that you recognise his phoniness.
That he is, in fact, an unrepentant watermelon man radiates from this piece of writing.
Why on earth has NZ Catholic published such anti-Catholic nonsense ?
Perhaps even more startling, why has this previously defrocked priest been allowed back in to further damage the flock ?
