It is certainly not flourishing as it was before the parish mergers. I have been told the parish has had to ask for financial help because the numbers attending Mass has dropped. Before the tranzparish there used to be Sunday Mass but now there is only a 5.30pm vigil Mass on Saturdays. A group of parishioners took their concerns to Bishop Browne initially but he would not change so many of those who live in the parish boundaries (including myself) do not attend Mass at St Peter Chanel because we prefer Mass on Sunday. Parishioners were never happy about having no resident priest and felt like the poor relation.
